Give an event link a closing time.
You are sharing a public event announcement. The event lasts a week; the link does not need to wander the internet forever.
Choose the lifetime before you share
On Shorten a URL, paste the public announcement page and choose Day, Week, 2 weeks or Month. All four options are free. A month means one calendar month from registration. Read the exact expiration shown on your confirmation.
For a hypothetical Saturday meetup, a Week link gives people a short address during the announcement period. That is an example, not a live event. Choose a longer free option if people need time afterward to read the recap.
Confirm your email
Complete CAPTCHA, accept the public-link terms and verify through your email. The reserved address does not redirect until activation. Keep the registration ID and private removal code from the confirmation.
Know what expiration does
Expiration stops the short redirect and removes the active listing. It does not delete your original announcement or copies held elsewhere. The short address becomes reusable, so an old post can eventually lead somewhere else.
If that would mislead people, update or remove the original social post too. For permanent printed material, plan a different lifetime.
Keep it public on purpose
Do not submit an invite URL that grants private access. Every active destination, title and expiration is visible in the directory. Personal contact details and removal credentials stay private.
